Mentor Menghorng


Ms. Menghorng Kao is a passionate advocate for STEM and social change, dedicated to empowering youth and fostering innovation. Raised in a rural community, she experienced societal barriers that often discouraged girls from pursuing higher education and careers in technology. Her journey to overcome these challenges has inspired countless young women to break stereotypes and pursue their dreams.

Ms. Menghorng is the founder of WE DARE DO and STEMUNITY, initiatives that inspire young minds to explore STEM and contribute to their communities. With a strong academic background in Data Science and AI Engineering from CamTech University, she currently works as a Programming Teacher at Algorithmic Phnom Penh.

She has represented Cambodia on numerous international stages and is a member of UNICEF’s Global Girl Leaders Advisory Group. Recently, she delivered a speech at the 69th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women during the launch of POWER4Girls: Invest in Girls, Transform the World. Her resilient and inspiring journey, combined with her exceptional talents and skills, has recently earned her the prestigious SHE-CAN scholarship—a renowned award given to talented young women leaders who possess incredible potential and passion for change, despite having limited opportunities.

As a mentor, Ms. Menghorng focuses on city life adaptation, academic success strategies, and developing soft skills like communication and teamwork. Her supportive and discussion-based approach ensures mentees receive personalized guidance tailored to their goals and challenges.
