Mentor Soptey


Ms. Soptey recently earned her master’s degree in Computer Science from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Rangsit, Thailand, under the Higher Education Improvement Project (HEIP) funded by the World Bank. Her master’s dissertation focused on blockchain security, specifically enhancing the security of land registration systems. She also holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science from Phnom Penh International University (PPIU) and International Relations from the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP).

In 2022, Ms. Soptey served as the President and Executive Director of TEDxRUPP, the first and only independent university-based TED in Cambodia, where she showcased her leadership and commitment to fostering innovation and dialogue. Motivated by her own experiences navigating both tech and policy, Ms. Soptey is passionate about giving back by supporting emerging talents, particularly from underrepresented communities like hers. Upon returning to Cambodia, Ms. Soptey began contributing to her community by entering academia as a lecturer and program coordinator, while leading NGO projects aimed at accelerating digital transformation in Cambodia.

As a mentor, Ms. Soptey specializes in academic success strategies, career planning, and developing communication and teamwork skills. Her discussion-based and hands-on approach empowers students to achieve their goals and thrive in both academic and professional settings.
